Enable Two-Factor Authentication - 💡

To enable 2FA on Instagram, go to your profile and tap the three dots in the top right corner. Then, select "Settings and Privacy" and then "Accounts Center" “Password and Security” Scroll tap on "Two-Factor Authentication." Follow the instructions to set up 2FA with an authentication app. You can use the Google Authenticator app for this purpose, Free on the app store.


Review Your Logged In Devices - 📲

Keep tabs on which devices have access to your account. See something unfamiliar? Remove it immediately.

To do this, go to your profile and tap the three dots in the top right corner. Then, select "Settings and Privacy" and then "Accounts Center", “Password and Security” Under "Where You're Logged In," you will see a list of all the devices that have logged into your account in the past 48 hours. If you see any devices that you don't recognise, tap "Remove" to log them out.


Turn On Login Alerts - 🚨

Stay informed with alerts for new logins. If it's not you, you'll know right away and can take action.

To turn on Login Alerts, go to your profile and tap the three dots in the top right corner. Then, select "Settings and Privacy" and then "Accounts Center", “Password and Security”. Under "Login Alerts," tap the switch to turn on "Email" and "Text Message."




Use a Strong Password - ✍🏼

Create a tough password - mix up letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid easy-to-guess words to keep hackers guessing. You can use a password manager to help you create and store strong passwords for all of your online accounts.

To reset your Instagram account password, go to your profile, then tap the three dots in the top right corner. Then select "Settings and Privacy" and then "Accounts Center", “Password and Security”. Tap to reset your password.
