Cyber security can be a daunting career path to explore, with so much information on the internet. I often get asked "where do I start?" which courses are beginner-friendly and what should my study plan look like for me to have success as well? A Bootcamp may not always work out best because some people don't have access or funds needed but thankfully, in this guide, I aim to provide insight into course considerations for beginners.

Cyber security is a hot topic, it's important to know the basics of what it means, why should you care about this field of work and what skillset can make an impact on something so big!

Remember to keep your security knowledge up-to-date by continuously learning about the latest trends in cyber security. There are many training programs available for anyone looking to start their career in cyber security or update their skillset; consider one of these before you dive into more focus domain-specific training that may be too advanced for beginners.
You should also invest time building other valuable soft skills like networking, interviewing techniques, communication skills etc.
Finally, it is important to understand the basics but then specialise and build on those core competencies through ongoing education so you can demonstrate your value to an employer.
